yes, well, I did and I still do. It’s been 5 months since I last posted and I can come up with many reasons and excuses but let’s not go there. I will move on and just post this beautiful sunrise over Victoria.
Thank you for stopping by.
Life in our home and hearts.

Christmas is almost here and I have so much to do! We (my husband and I) finished painting our Great Room and Kitchen last Saturday. Now I am in the midst of putting up our Christmas decorations and planning menus for 3 parties in our home! Craziness!
I think of how I got here–it kind of just happened. It’s all okay. I’ve been planning my menus, when and how to execute everything for the 21st, 24th and 25th. We decided to have a Filipino inspired food for 2 parties and a turkey dinner for Christmas day. I will try to remember to take photos of the prep and food and am hoping to post it all. I do enjoy entertaining and I have not done much of it for the past few years. I guess one can say I am catching up for past years.
I will do what I can and it will all work out. Keep calm, just do it and have fun!
We’ve had beautiful sunrises in Victoria this week but it’s been very cold at 0°C on average. Usually our weather veers between cloudy and rain or both for most of our winter months, with snow and -0°C for about a week or two. But this week we have snow! It seems we are getting a taste of old man winter here in our neck of the woods just like the rest of the country, at least one of us (our daughter) is enjoying the snow.
It’s been a very busy week. It started last Sunday with my girlfriend and I on a beginner’s rock climbing course at Crag X Indoor Climbing Centre–it was so much fun and will definitely do again, perhaps my daughter and I can do it together. On Monday we (my husband and I) started painting our Great Room and Kitchen an ivory colour and we are almost done; and I emailed January schedule of art classes. Oh yes, and I art journaled daily.
When I art journal I don’t necessarily finish a page, it’s doing multiple pages of colour and texture, collaging, or just plain journaling. I do this for me because it feels good and makes me happy.
What makes you happy?
Hello! I am one crazy lady. I have a very busy week, a busy month just like everyone. However I have added to the usual hustle and bustle of Christmas by painting our great room–yes I am!
It’s time for the next phase in my life and what better way to do so is by painting a new colour. I’ve done the yellows, greens and burgundy so now I’m doing neutral. I’m painting an ivory colour to give our home a new look and showcase our fabulous view, my paintings and our collection of art and personal treasures. I’ve been thinking of doing this for almost a year and this week just happens to be the time to do it.
Am hoping that by Friday the painting will be done and I can get our Christmas decor up for the holidays.
I often check out new recipes and try them out (did I mention I love to cook). This is a recipe I found in Epicurious called Parmesan Chicken with Caesar Roasted Romaine. I first tried it last month and we all enjoyed it. I decided to try it out a second time–again we all thought it made a lovely meal. I made a mushroom and potatoes side to go with the dish. It’s an easy dish to prepare. My daughter said I should take a picture–here it is. Enjoy!
